BYD India has officially introduced the Seal electric vehicle to the Indian market, priced at ₹41 lakh. Initially unveiled at Auto Expo 2023, the launch was delayed, but the electric sedan is now available with two battery pack options. The first is a 61.44 kWh pack exclusive to the Dynamic Range variant, while the second is an 82.56 kWh battery offered in two versions – Premium Range and Performance. Bookings are open with a token amount of ₹1.25 lakh.

The Dynamic Range and Premium Range variants feature a rear-wheel drive powertrain, while the Performance variant boasts an all-wheel drive powertrain. Each variant offers distinct power outputs, with prices set at ₹41 lakh, ₹45.55 lakh, and ₹53 lakh, respectively (ex-showroom).

The Dynamic Range produces 201 bhp and 310 Nm, the Premium Range delivers 308 bhp and 360 Nm, and the Performance variant combines both motors for an output of 522 bhp and 670 Nm.

In terms of range and acceleration, the Dynamic Range claims 510 km with a 0-100 kmph acceleration time of 7.5 seconds. The Premium Range accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 5.9 seconds with a claimed range of 650 km. The Performance variant offers a claimed range of 580 km and accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 3.8 seconds.

The BYD Seal EV is available in four color options: Aurora White, Cosmos Black, Atlantis Grey, and Artic Blue. The electric sedan has already achieved a 5-star crash test rating from Euro NCAP and ANCAP.

Inside the Seal, you’ll find a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, a digital driver’s display, and a rotating touchscreen infotainment system.
